ターミナルで Aider がすること

Aider is a Git-aware terminal pair programmer: you describe tasks in natural language, the model edits project files, and changes can be tracked with Git. The PyPI package is aider-chat; the CLI is usually aider. It supports OpenAI, Anthropic, and other providers via environment variables or a gitignored .env—never commit keys. You need Python 3.8+, git, and a initialized or cloned repository in the directory you start from.

pip で Aider をインストール

   Python and Git

   Check python3 --version (3.8+) and git --version. Use a virtualenv (python3 -m venv .venv, then activate) so the install does not touch system Python.

   Install aider-chat

   Run python -m pip install -U aider-chat. Verify with aider --version. If the command is missing, activate the venv or check pip show aider-chat for the scripts path.

   Optional pin

   Teams may pin versions in requirements-dev.txt without putting secrets there. Upgrade with pip install -U aider-chat and read release notes.

OpenAI / Anthropic キーを設定

   Create keys in the vendor console

   OpenAI: platform.openai.com. Anthropic: console.anthropic.com. Billing and regions follow each vendor. Do not paste live keys into tickets or Git.

   Export environment variables

   export OPENAI_API_KEY=… or export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=…. Aider also supports a repo-root .env that must stay gitignored. Pick one provider and pass --model with a supported model id.

   Pick a model id

   Start with a model listed in current Aider docs (e.g. a GPT-4o class or Claude Sonnet id). Wrong names yield 404/401—smoke-test with a read-only question first.

Git リポジトリでペアプロ

   cd to the repo root

   Work inside a directory with .git. Run git status so you know what changed before and after Aider edits.

   Launch aider

   Run aider or aider --model MODEL. Scope context with aider path/to/file.py on large trees. Ask for explanations first, then a small test or fix with “show the diff first.”

   Review diff before commit

   Read git diff line by line. Auto-commit behavior depends on flags and version; hour one: commit manually with your own message so git revert stays easy.
